A brand to look out for in creating circular fashion in Kyoto city

Mori is a secondhand clothes store that is located on the second floor of mumokuteki cafe&foods. The brand believes in the value of used clothes and shows us their vision for them.

First off, the secondhand clothes are modern and casual, reflecting a style trend that is popular in Kyoto. Deeper into mori is the studio RE;CIRCLE, which does repairs of old clothes and upcycles clothes that are beyond repair. Not only that, you will also find an orange and white box meant for any one to drop their disused clothing. The clothing will subsequently be sorted for future sale or use for events.

This combination of services may not seem much at first, but is really about circular fashion, and circular economy. mori and RE;CIRCLE are extending the lifespans of the fabrics, while the old clothes collection box keeps clothes from turning into garbage. The zero-waste message is very strong, and why we like the system they’ve got here.

By the way, mori is managed by the same company as mumokuteki, Human Forum, so you can think of visiting mumokuteki, their cafe or mori as a stop for multiple sustainable lifestyle needs.
